The Twisted Twines Shawl is a stunning cable shawl available in two versions: triangular and rectangular. This shawl features a unique cable pattern based on a 2x2 rib, reminiscent of intertwined twines in a forest. The inspiration behind this design is to create a beautiful, cozy cabled shawl perfect for the colder months. Imagine long walks in the woods, returning home, and relaxing in front of the fireplace with your lovely shawl draped over your shoulders, whilst knitting or reading...
IMPORTANT NOTE: Proficiency in reading charts is essential for this pattern, as it uses a comprehensive chart to make tracking your progress easy.
The Triangular Version:
The shawl is knitted back and forth, starting at the tip. You will work increases every other row (always on the right side of your work) until you reach the widest point at the centre. Then, you will work decreases every other row until you reach the other tip.
The Rectangular Version:
This version is knitted back and forth as well.
Unlike the triangular version, this version uses ‘mirrored’ cables. That is to say, left-turning cables are made on the left side of the central part with ‘medallions’ and right-turning cables are made on the right side. Feel free to add tassels to the ends for a decorative touch.
Both versions of the Twisted Twines Shawl are perfect for enveloping yourself in warmth and elegance.
I hope to add other Twisted Twines design to the collection in the future!
