Ginger Neck

Workflow

You first work the back, for which you cast on stitches using the italian cast on. You then work the hem in double twisted rib and continue working the back in a cable pattern. At the shoulders, you will split the shoulders (by casting off some stitches in the center) and work left and right shoulder separately, whilst shaping the neckline by making increases. In a next step you will join the right and left shoulders again, by casting on new stitches in between. You continue working the front back and forth in the established cable pattern. The front hem is worked in double twisted rib. Stitches are cast off with the tubular bind off technique. In a final step, the neck is made. Stitches are picked up and the neck is worked in the round in double twisted rib 1x1. All the necessary charts are included in the pattern.

Length front (measured from the cast-on edge):

NOTE: the difference between the width of the 2 biggest sizes is 4 extra stitches at both sides (an extra repeat of the broken rib stitch). 

Circular needles 3 mm or 4 mm  / cable 40 cm [US 3 or US 6 /cable length 16 inches] (for the neck)

Worked with needles 4 mm:

Double twisted rib: 10 x 10 cm = 24 sts x 28 rows 

Cable pattern: 10 x 10 cm = 27 sts x 28 rows

Majo Garn ‘Fine merino’ (50 g - 175 m) held together with Majo Garn ‘Pearl mohair’ (25 g -  210 m):

Merino: 100 (200) 250 g

Mohair: 50 (75) 100 g

Lang Yarns ‘Alpaca Soxx 6ply’ (150 g - 390 m) held together with Lang Yarns ‘Cashmere dreams’ (25 g - 290 m):

Alpaca: 150 (300) 300-450 g
