The Grace Sweater is a simple, classic raglan sweater with a V-neck, balloon sleeves and purl edge details. The idea behind this design is to have a ‘basic’ sweater for which you can use many different types of yarn, always with the same gauge of course.

More info

The sweater is knitted seamlessly from top to bottom. The neck, hem and cuffs are worked in a 1x1 rib stitch. The rest of the sweater is worked in stockinette stitch. Stitches are bound off using the Italian bind off technique. The V-neck is worked by picking up stitches along the neckline.

I’ve made 2 samples using a different type of yarn:

The 1st sample was made using 1 strand of ‘Tweedy’ (noir) from Hedgehog Fibers held together with 1 strand of ‘Lace’ from Lang Yarns, to add a bit of fluff :).

The 2nd sample was made using 2 strands of Tweed Supreme held together (from MAJO Garn).

You could also use all the yarn combos I’ve used for the Grace Sweater with a crew neck, as these 2 sweaters have the same gauge.

The pattern contains a ‘modification option’ for the body: you can choose to work the body straight or with some decreases to get a more tapered shape. And it includes 2 options for the V-neck detail.

Sizes

XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL

The Grace Sweater V-neck is an oversized sweater with a positive ease of approx. 15 - 16 cm [6 - 6.25 inches] compared to the body bust circumference. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust circumference (of the body) of approx. 74 (84) 94 (104) 114 (124) 134 (144) 155 cm [29.25 (33) 37 (41) 45 (48.75) 52.75 (56.76) 61 inches] respectively. Keep in mind that the final measurements of the sweater already take these extra 15 - 16 cm [6 - 6.25 inches] into account. Ease is a personal preference. Take the necessary measurements to determine the right size for you before you start knitting.

Sample 2 (Size M): ‘Tweed Supreme’ in the colour ‘Ivory’ held double from MAJO Garn, with modification option.
