The Twisted Twines Scarf is a beautiful little cable scarf. This scarf features a unique cable pattern based on a 2x2 rib, reminiscent of intertwined twines in a forest. The Twisted Twines Scarf is the ‘little sister’ of the Twisted Twines Shawl.

The scarf is knitted back and forth, starting at the tip. You will work increases in every 4th row (always on the right side of your work) until you reach the widest point at the centre. Then, you will work decreases in every 4th row until you reach the other tip.
And good news: if you fell in love with the texture of this little scarf, you can make the big shawl for the colder months!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Proficiency in reading charts is essential for this pattern, as it uses a comprehensive chart to make tracking your progress easy.

Sizes
Sizes
One Size
Length approx 100 cm / 39.25 inches
Width (measured at the widest point): approx. 11 cm / 4.25 inches
Needles
Needles
Circular needles 4 mm / cable 60 cm [US 6 / cable length 24 inches]
Gauge
Gauge
Worked with needles 4 mm [US 6] in cable pattern:
10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] = 26 sts x 28 rows
NOTE: normally I would always recommend to make a gauge swatch. But, as this is a scarf and not a garment, the gauge is ‘less important’. In the Twisted Twines Shawl (the big sis of this scarf), I added a separate chart specifically for the swatch. I did not do this for the Scarf, as you can probably knit half of the scarf in the same time you would knit up a swatch.
Suggested yarn
Suggested yarn
‘Cashmere Classic’ (25 g - 112 m) from Cardiff: 25 g
OR
‘Lima’ (50 g - 200 m) from Lamana held together with ‘Cashmere Dreams’ (25 g - 290 m) from Lang Yarns
Lima: 50 g
Cashmere Dreams: 25 g
You can use any DK weight yarn OR fingering + lace weight yarn combination for this scarf.
NOTE: You will need approx. 110 m [120 yds] of yarn to make 1 scarf. I used exactly 1 ball of cashmere classic.
The above mentioned amount of yarn does not include yarn for a swatch.
Samples as shown in the photos:
- Blue version: Cashmere Classic from Cardiff in the colour 588 Persian
